Frankstown Branch Watershed
The Frankstown Branch is a 101 square mile watershed that covers much of central Blair County. Its eastern edge crosses into Huntingdon County. The watershed contains parts of several municipalities, but is contained mostly within Frankstown Township, Blair Township, and Catharine Township.
The Frankstown Branch itself is formed where Beaverdam Creek meets South Poplar Run at the village of Claysburg. This 46 mile long tributary flows northeast across Blair County until it merges with the Little Juniata River in Huntingdon County to form the mainstem Juniata River. A large number of additional local streams flow through the watershed, which can be seen below.
