Tipton Run Watershed
The Tipton Run watershed is 18 square miles in size and is located in the northwestern part of Blair County. A small part of the watershed falls in Cambria County to the west, and a tiny sliver crosses into Centre County to the north. In Blair County, the majority of the watershed is located in Antis Township, and the rest is located in Snyder Township. Over 90% of the watershed is forested. Tipton Run also contains portions of State Game Lands 156.
Tipton Run’s main tributaries include Loop Run and Three Springs Run. These streams meander in a generally southeast direction to Tipton Run’s confluence with the Little Juniata River in Antis Township.

The Tipton Run Reservoir, fed by Tipton Run, is located in this watershed. This reservoir is operated by Altoona Water Authority, which provides clean drinking water to thousands of people in Blair County.
